This one I’ve had in my head for a small while. I just didn’t know how I was going to write it. This shifted back and forth from a horror/suspense to a mystery/cliffhanger. It eventually became a mystery/cliffhanger and that would be my more classical version of storytelling. I’ll leave the conculsions to the reader, for even I never did solve it myself. I left it for myself to judge. Comments are openThis one I’ve had in my head for a small while. I just didn’t know how I was going to write it. THE SHADOWS
In silence of my younger years, my town wasn’t always happy. It is never what anyone would think possible. From a form of the deepest and darkest of depressions, to parties and celebrations, on a daily basis. It is really all quite simple: The Shadows came, stayed, and gone, with a dispersing silence. I was a child at that point of time, I remember it all too well.
Any person could say that the shadows were a blessing, others would say, a curse. Yet it depended on the social class that you were from. If I was of any class other then my own, then the shadows would’ve come for me. Which is why I say, The Shadows were a blessing.
* * *
The Shadows weren’t of human form, back then, the bankers, conservatives, rich class, and basically anyone who had more then a few thousand tucked away somewhere, was more likely to get a visit form the shadows. In this, they were known to come at night. Never during the day. That is because of the sunlight, it prevented the shadows from traveling in their ghoulish, transparent form.
Everyone knew the next day, which rude snob went next, for the house or mansion was broken into, windows smashed, various things were either missing or out of place. Then there was this sense of a lonely dread that would linger among the damaged property, let alone our properties always had that affect, until The Shadows came and took the power from the powerful and the greed from the greedy.
