A short poem I wrote around the phrase "the shaming of the true".
The Shaming of the True
by Lew Sethics
5-0 on my track
Trailin’ the smell of a lie
Devastation computation,
Tough luck, its eye for eye.
The sun don’t make no sound
And lucks not made for you
But like a frown, its going down,
The shaming of the true.
The shaming of the true
The law of hand denied
The only time you believed in me
Is when I said I lied.
Inner eye on myself
Who’s that in there I see?
Crystal vision of a stool pigeon
Looking back at me.
Who’s that on the line?
What’s that in my sack?
Ain’t no foolin, ain’t no rulin’
A low road quarterback.
The shaming of the true
The law of hand denied.
The only time you believed in me
Is when I said I lied.
