The Cleansing sensuous feel of water in skin…

The Shower……

The crystal water, as it flows,
caresses my skin, on it’s journey goes…
The heat inside it, eases aches,
slipping, sliding, tension breaks.
Glistening drops upon my skin,
reflective surface, gleams within,
Like diamonds caught within the light…
the water takes it’s downward flight..

I stand here, letting it caress,
kissing skin, it’s touch, I bless…
As from my hair, it’s fingers, comb,
make soft as silk, leaves wake, of foam.
The worries, pressures, and the stress,
flow from me now, this pilgrim rests.
I stand there, the crystal water’s cease,
My shower over, cleansed, at peace.

It’s ironic that you published this piece today – a water line broke outside of our house & we had no water all day. It’s something we should never take for granted. Very beautiful prose.

I felt every moment of that shower with you. You described the feelings so sensuously. Lovely work.

Lovely poem Songbird. Your words encapsulate exactly what is happening in a shower. I love a shower you feel so clean and refreshed and all your worries seem to get washed away with the water. Great work my friend …

Thank you Richard, I would be lost without your continued support too! I am a Shower rather than Bath person, so couldn’t agree more my friend! lol. Thanks for popping in and leaving a comment.. :~)
