A smart parrot outwitting a wily man..

My neighbor has a parrot that’s smart
He is a passers-by delight
He take his mimicking as an art
As usual he gets the limelight.
Out of curiosity
I pass-by my neighbor’s gate
The parrot look at me as I wait
Then he tells me “ You’re ugly”.
I went back to my house drooped
Astonished I looked in a mirror
Asking myself “Is the parrot telling the truth?”
Tomorrow, I’ll settle the score.
As I get near his cage, the next morning
That damn parrot flap his wings
And open wide his red beak
“You’re ugly” he loudly speaks.
Fuming mad, I shout
“Next time you speak that phrase,
You’re death will be with ease
I’ll cut your neck with my mouth.”
Waking up early the following day
I run straight to the parrot’s place
Wondering what he has to say
But this time he looks at me with gaze.
Leaping with pride he plays
And gently says:
“I guess you already know
What I have to tell you.”
