Humorous poem about the snorer named Lenore.

Image via Wikipedia

Can’t sleep,

Tried to count sheep,

But instead I listened to the snorer.

What a horror!

It started off with a quiet sound

And then grew louder.

“Stop!” I implored.

But nothing would stop the snorer.

It sounded like the roar of a train.

It was driving me insane.

“No more! No more!

But I was ignored.

I paced around the room.

But I only heard more

Of that terrible sound

From my darling Lenore.

Her voice sounded raspy

And increasingly sore.

Like the mysterious, black raven,

I cried, “Never more!”

New meaning to once upon a midnight dreary. An elbow to the ribs of Lenore shall make her snore nevermore.
