A solo bass singer in a solo performance.

Notes drifted across the hall,
At times melodious,
Enchanting all.

He who mixed lyrics with melody,
Closed his eyes,
Under hushed tranquility.

There upon him was this light,
So yellow and harsh,
It sure shone bright.

And then the lush sound,
Of piano, flute, cello,
drifted all around.

Circulating,
Embracing,
Dancing with
His singing.

Deep and controlled,
His voice and him alone,
A certain richness in his tone.

Cheers followed the orchestra’s beat,
Loud clappings after
His very own feat.

The solo bass singer
Did a humble bow.

At least the audience,
Hears him now.
