Amusing poem about a man that has to give a speech before a large audience.

The audience was huge.

Time to give my speech.

Sweat was pouring from my head.

I wish I was at the beach.

My stomach had butterflies.

My teeth were chattering with fear.

Time to give my speech again.

I’ve done this every year.

As I walke onto the podium.

I looked at the polite crowd.

I started my speech softly,

And then I became quite loud.

I rambled on and on.

I don’t know what I said.

When I finished giving my speech,

I left with an aching head.

The audience applauded.

I really don’t know why.

My speech was bloody awful.

I felt I was going to die.

I understand today

Why my speech was a big hit.

The audience thought that I

Was a very clever twit.

Oh sure, I made promises

That I would never keep.

At least I could call it a day,

And count the ravenous sheep.

LOL, sounds like how I felt when I had to make presentations at school years ago! Great piece!
