A once in a life-time love, changed to pain when a lover that once was, was no more.

Twas Love once upon my face.

Pain was born and takes its place.

Rawness within my bones.

My heart still yet moans.

Eyes cannot see

lest an image of thee.

Betwixt feelings of love and pain.

Down pours the salty rain.

Wilt I last yet another day?

Not, if without you I pray.

Senses are searching, but cannot find.

The one that fulfilled both body and mind.

I wonder -

Doth the heart inside of you,

break as well too?

I feel as though I must die

to escape such torment.

The deep-seated agony within my soul

seems to ferment.

The spoil from inside,

allows no love to reside.

I am reminded of the Thorn-bird

that pricks its breast on a nasty thorn,

agonizing for his love

from whence it was torn.
