By Bryan Wegman.

Spotlight beam down upon me
Take me away from this forsaken place
It scares me to ponder death
Though daily I live for it
When I truly face the possibility of escape from this world
I fear it
The alien life forms that live on this planet
Unacceptable for outsiders to settle
I try to blend in, but eyes still peer my direction
They are aware I am not from here
They’ll do whatever it takes to keep me away
The spotlight beam takes control of my body
If I drift away to a new world
What will they say?
Missing, lost soul
Drifted away with a restless mind
He never knew what he wanted from life
He isn’t missing at all, but traveling the world
I fear this new place I am being taken
Complete loss of control
A destiny in something else’s grasp
