      the Starving Artist

I wish that I could write for a living,

do nothing but sit and write all day.

Live off of black coffee and yogurt,

create one masterpiece after another.

But i know in reality that I cant do it,

writing for a living is just a  dream.

I maybe a  talented writer i know,

but a Steven King I am not at all.

I don’t fancy starving to death at all,

giving mew meaning to the tittle.

But if all I did was write all day long,

I would get the chance to rattle skillets.

A masterpiece cant always be created,

us writers have a bad piece on occasion.

but writing is all about trial and error,

sometimes you win and some you lose.

I would love to write all day if i could,

but then I would wind up homeless.

I have no husband to help pay bills,

the bills rest upon my wide shoulders.

my goldfish and my cat would starve also,

for they depend on me for their survival.

I would lose my Internet connection also,

without it I cant publish my work on Triond.

So it isnt a good idea to write all day long,

my other hobbies are being neglected .

My grandchildren would not see grandma,

but I am allowed to dream about it anyway.
