the first tree was purchasedfrom a mail order catalogueit was specialand cost twenty dollarsit was planted and grew for a year in my yardthentransplanted to my mom’s yardwhen I moved homeit was years away from bloomingbut there was hope…and then…a younger brotherand a lawn mower mishapmy lilac tree was mulched!
the second treewas purchasedfrom the same catalogueanother chanceand hope renewedit was planted in the front yardand surrounded with it’s own little white fencebut alas…another younger brother (hubby’s this time)and a truck parked on the very spotabove the snowand after the spring thaw…poor lilac baby was dead!AGAIN!
My lesson?DON’T purchase fancy lilac treesand plant them anywhere that little brother’s travel!!(just kidding guys)
