I wrote this back in 2007 when my husband and I first started dating. It’s kind of corny but it was the first Valentine’s present I ever gave him. I went as far as making it into a scrapbook with Precious Moment pictures that I colored and attached to the pages… Maybe someday I will scan it into the computer and you can get the full affect..
One bright and shiny day in May.
At a camp down Newton Hamilton way.
There was a man with a plan,
Who did not realize he was in for a surprise.
Thought he was just going to relax for the weekend.
But instead ended up in love with a new best friend.
Did not expect it from the start,
But that girl stole his heart.
She did not know what to expect,
But figured “What the heck?”
Deciding to take a chance on fate,
Wanting happiness before it’s too late.
Both had been hurt before,
So they were cautious and unsure.
He was everything she was looking for.
She was one, he could not help but adore.
There was a connection between the two,
And as each day passed, it grew & grew.
Wanting her with him for all his life,
He longed for the day when she’d be his wife.
Building their dreams together
Working towards forever.
