Pattie sits among a group of first grade children,

fifteen sets of eyes hanging onto her every word.

With every spoken word that she reads to the kids,

the storyteller draws them into a different world.

Together they all take a walk through a local park,

Dora,Boots,Pattie and the children all want to play.

But we are having strawberry cupcakes as a treat,

we have to watch them so that Swiper doesn’t carry

them away.

All of us follow Dora to see a parade that is going on,

the songs,horns,cymbals and festive music draws us

there.

Boots wants to play the maracas but Benny wants to

dance,

maybe we all can dance long after the parade is gone.

If we want to we all can be like the fox in Dr.Sues books,

wear blue socks while chicks with bricks does magic tricks.

Sue comes into the picture with bright pink socks about

now,

do you think the fox has enough socks for all of us to wear?

Come help me count the apples do you think that you can?

We can go slowly so you kids can keep up with the story

characters.

But please don’t let Mr.Bear,the birds or anyone else eat

your apples,

if they do that means that we each have less to count

now.

Lets journey with Aladdin and Jasmine on a magic carpet,

a commoner disguised as a prince  to capture a princess

heart.

But Jafar is the evil mastermind that wants to marry

Jasmine as well,

journey with me as they banish Jafar and to marry in

the end.

As each story is read by Pattie the children are drawn

into them,

each child doing what their favorite character in the

books are doing.

Pattie watched as their eyes shined and smiles were

evident,

so sorry to see her time to read to them has come to

an end.

But she tell the children to study hard and do what they

are told,

for next week she will return and read then a new set

of stories.

Pattie should go buy a new book of Dr.Sues green eggs

and ham,

the children that she reads this book to seem to enjoy

it the most.
