The synonym for labour is work. There is also another meaning of labour which is the delivery of a baby. The word labour also refers to manual work so there is a little confusion on the word and there is more problems when you oppose public and private in this sense.

because you cannot invade the private

and you have to keep yourself private
when you do not know the public
because you want to make known the private
