The war we fight daily.

The supermarket is a battleground indeed
As we fight to survive the economy
Cheese, milk and bread things we need
Each price hike bringing hardship to every day folk like you and me

What can we do when all the luxuries are gone without
what do we cut off the list next we ask
Meat or maybe eggs when will it end we shout
to no one who is listening to us at all

Families and elderly being pushed into a corner
food banks getting more business than the savings bank
The wealthy not feeling the pinch as hard yet
but it will hit them and when it does it will sting.

To those who control the prices hear my plea
think before you aim for a higher profit line
Your hurting the worlds young and elderly
the very ones who should be cared for

a poem that many can relate to. It needs to be said, and brought to light because the wealthy can not comprehend the struggle.
