A dog in bliss, basking in the winter sun with his master.

The Sundog

The sun warms me, making me yawn,

making my body collapse,

collapsing in a heap of laze.

I can feel his presence,

It comes through his scent,

the odor of his perspiration.

Thumping my tail,

I let my tail thump on the ground,

demanding his attention.

I close my eyelids, yes, I let them droop,

allowing that warm winter sun on embrace me,

making me feel velvety and cozy,

letting him stroke me in the warm
