In the bad old days of the Industrial Revolution they had “Tommy Shops”. It was a scam invented by the factory and mine owners to give the workers their wages with one hand then take them back with the other. So what has changed and are we really owned by Tesco?
It’s so convenient.
Things are so much cheaper,
At the Superstore.
Well! Compare the prices.
The Corner Shop,
And the Superstore.
Of course you need a car.
But everyone needs a car,
These days for the Superstore.
And you can bank there, as well.
Better than the High Street,
At the Superstore.
Everything you need.
All under one roof.
At the Superstore.
You can even buy petrol,
For your car,
At the Superstore.
The car you need to get you,
For your shopping,
To the Superstore.
You have a house, you have a car.
Everything is so predictable,
When you have a Superstore.
All the goods are beautifully,
Wrapped and packaged.
In boxes at the Superstore.
And our loves, and lives, in boxes.
Wrapped and packaged.
At the Superstore.
There are jobs too, for shelf stackers,
Cleaners, and other operatives, from among the unemployed.
At the Superstore.
Jobs at the Superstore, so working hard,
Under watchful eye, we earn money.
To spend at the Superstore.
