Daily pressures, emotions and stresses of life.
Racing and pacing, the clock is ticking.
Promotions, demotions and the plot thickens.
The studying, the working and making ends meet.
It never ends, it never ceases,
it never reaches its peak. You’re up,
You’re down. You’re almost there but not quite yet.
You’re focused, you’re disoriented, you’re happy,
You’re not, the systems’ got you down. What is the system?
Where’d it come from? Who created it? How do we
Get rid of it? I’m the system, you’re the system,
This whole freaking world’s the system and we
Can’t get rid of it. Putting pressure on ourselves,
Get that job, that promotion, sort the bills out, do
Your chores. Build ambition, achieve success, plan your strategies, be the best. Those days are good, such days are awesome. The feel of greatness, it’s amazing. But there are other days, not so great. You’re down, you’re drained, and life feels insane. You can’t keep up, can’t make those payments and now you’re scared you’re going to fail. It’s brutal, it’s torture. You’re stressing, you can’t face it, the systems’ finally dragging you under.
You’re slipping, you’re falling, it feels like you’ve hit rock bottom, and now you don’t know what more to do.
Here’s what you do, you rise to the challenge, you stare the system in its face and don’t back down. Be optimistic not pessimistic. It won’t kill you, not if you don’t let it. So get what you deserve, be the best, get to that level and you’ll pass the test. Because at the end of the day, it’s all one big test you see, you can beat the system.
