Maris Piper, Pentland Squire, Walker’s Crisps,

Gary Lineker, nice but dull to funny quips;

Boiled, fried, steamed, mashed and rosti,

Instant, baked, chipped and sauteed;

Eyes and skins, dressed in a jacket,

Value for money – won’t cost a packet;

Carbohydrates, minerals, vitamins,

Versatile, nutritious, get them in -

Supermarket trolley or a basket.

Does GM enhance flavour or mask it?

Over-cultivation, pesticides, fertiliser, taste lost -

Just remember to use old peelings for compost!

    Very enjoyable. I visited a native market in La Pas, Bolivia one time.
    The very birthplace of domesticated potatos. The market was said to
    have 50 different varieties differing in size and color. Wonderful.
