Spiders weave some beautiful webs and no two are alike as we know.No matter how many times us humans knock them down the spiders rebuild them again. The same could be said about a relationship between two people that love the other. The webbing that holds them and the spider webs together is only as strong as the time put into it.

Quietly watch a lone spider as it weaves its web,

round and round they go with a perfect precision.

They take the time to make sure the web is perfect,

then silently watches as the prey comes into its

silky home.

*****

Quietly watch as a couple decides to build a home,

the foundation they lay will have to last them forever.

Walls are built strong to house their future children,

in this circumstance there is anything but quiet here.

*****

Quietly watch as a mischievous child picks up a stick,

with a childish laugh knocks down the spiders web.

The spider dangles in the air supported by a single

silky web,

but in no time at all is rebuilding what the child  has

damaged.

*****

Quietly watch as the couple copes with life’s daily

challenges,

having two children isn’t as easy as they first thought.

But will they let life knock them down oh no they wont,

though life is hard they remain a family and slowly

rebuild where needed.

*****

Quietly watch as the spider repairs their web when its

needed,

their sole task is to make the damaged web perfect again.

The gentle morning rains left raindrops on its new web,

the afternoon sun makes them look like rough cut diamonds.

*****

Quietly watch as the couple repair the home they have lived

in for awhile,

their sole task is to make a safe place for their children to

grow up.

Both parents love their son and daughter more then life

itself,

to them the kids are two diamonds that will be eventually

polished up.

*****

Quietly watch as the spider defends its home against

another spider,

the spiders will fight very hard to protect what it calls home.

There is a chance that the spider may win or lose the

battle here,

but at least it stood up for its home and all that it contained

there.

*****

Quietly watch as the couple defends their home against an

outside predator,

fighting with everything they believe in to keep their children

safe and sound.

There is a chance that the predator may take the life of the

mother or father,

but they gave their life defending the people that they loved

the most.

*****

Quietly watch as the lone spider weaves yet another spider web,

but its not the same design as the one we saw it do yesterday.

For the spider knows that things don’t stay the same everyday,

but you can be guaranteed that the web is built strong to hold it

unsuspecting prey.

*****

Quietly watch as the couples children grow up and then move

out on their own,

yet the family has remained strong despite the rough years they

have had.

The foundation and walls they once built held strong and lasted

them as it should have,

they were built strong enough to handle the couple soon to be

born grandchildren.

*****

It doesn’t matter if its a spider web or even a couples well built

house,

if both was well built they will stand the test of time without any

trouble.

All it took was the will to stick things out and a steady devotion

that held tight,

then what we think are tangled webs don’t seem so tangled

upon a second look.

I really enjoyed this. You did an excellent job of comparing a relationship to a web. This was a very creative way of explaining about love between two people.

I am amazed by your anology. Survival is something we can learn, not only from one another, but from creatures like the spider. Thanks for sharing your creativity.

I taught my kids and grand kids to never disturb a spider web. I hope they remember. I have watched a writing spider building a web between two shrubs the last few days. I expect someone will knock it down sooner or later.
