Facing life’s struggles.

Another curve ball I’m thrown again

I’ll think that I’m safe but I just can’t win

Some would call this a blessing, you see

A test to measure what I can be

I’m not convinced what to make of this

A tear rolls down and I unclench my fist

Throw up my hands, I’ve reached my defeat

Staring down at my bare naked feet

This small soul that grows inside of me

Might take the small part that’s left of me

You gather close and take my hand now

Be brave with momma, I’ll show you how

We’ll take her in with an open heart

Shortly after father will depart

I’ll share my love, as I did with you

But I’ll need your help, as she will too

Another curve ball was thrown today

But we will not suffer in this play
