The Thought of Washington, D C.
A day in Washington; no relation to Wellington;
The Washington Monument that stands; the flags that surround as a grandstand;
Pillar of the Jefferson Memorial; that word substantial;
Abraham Lincoln who sits tall; a remembrance for all;
Senator’s home; where legislation roams;
Voice of the President; his stature which is evident;
The Potomac River; water of the silver;
Many Government agencies; plenty of activities;
Let me call my travel agency;
Tough decisions; documentations in missions;
Arlington in death; reality no myth;
Martin Luther King in stone; a tribute that stands alone;
Washington, DC in sight; lights that bring out the might;
Capitol Building over there; this is something we all can share;
The White House on Pennsylvania Avenue; my house distances away, but the Commander
Of Chief I salute on this day;
My Country Tis of thee; this is what Washington means to me.
