The first Olympics were off to a rocky start but was revived. The torchbearers of the modern Olympics are an inspiration to all mankind.
Coroebus was the first Olympian champion
At the first games in 776 BCE in Greece
Winning a race of a little over 200 yards
For 1200 years these events
Were held every four years
But because of their pagan influences
Theodosius 1- a Christian, abolished them
It took another 1500 years
Before they were revived

Will be in London
From July 27 to August 12, 2012
Like the previous games in Beijing, China
There would be thousands of torchbearers
With escorts
That will be chosen through recommendations
Of organizations and institutions
From all corners of the world
These torchbearers are meant
To show leadership
Inspire the peoples of planet earth
That we should all work
Together toward our valued goals
