Learning to trust in a relationship.
I watch the tears fall from your eyes.
I see you’re hurt, I hear your cries.
I see you stumble, then start to fall.
I just watch you and do nothing at all.
I know your fears, I see them on your face.
I could take you to a better place.
Still, I hold my position, waiting for you to see,
Just what would happen, if you trusted me.
These thoughts wander through my head.
What would you do if it were me instead?
Would you catch me? Wipe my tears?
Fix the pain that’s lasted all these years?
Would you wait for me to craw to you, begging for help before I fall?
I wonder if I’m doing the right thing by doing nothing at all.
