Humorous poem about a young man who loves to play tricks on people.

John Henry is the Trickster.

He loves to pull  some pranks.

Watch out for the fake vomit.

Oh God, it really stanks.

The Trickster will give you a dribble glass

Just to see you spill

The water that ends up on your lap

Everytime you fill.

Be careful when you sit down.

You just might sit on a pie.

The Trickster even likes to throw

A little mud in your eye.

The other day the Trickster

Cried, and cried, and cried.

He said that his poor mother

Had fallen asleep and died.

But when I tried to console him,

The Trickster gave me a drink.

It ended up that it was filled

With disappearing ink.

The Trickster dresses in fancy clothes.

He wears a bright red and blue cap.

And when he smiles the brightest smile,

You can see a widening gap.

One day I’ll get even.

I’ll make the Trickster pay.

But for now I’m stuck to my easy chair.
