Man is the only creature on the planet arrogant enough to believe there is no being who could possibly be superior to us.

Seems to me there is a growing lack

Of reverence for God

And lack of respect for those who believe

Condemned as ignorant and unlearned

Putting their faith in the “sky fairy”

(I believe this was the term I read)

But then again, I suppose it is our nature

To discard those things as foolish which

Are beyond our human capability to understand

So we must continue to believe

We have come thus far

By our own strength, our own power

Our own intelligence and abilities

Though at a loss to explain where

These things came from

How we overcame insurmountable odds

So now I have a clearer picture

The trouble with God is

He has allowed us to evolve to such a level

To advance in knowledge and comfort

Raised our standard of living to a point

Where we have become so arrogant

We flatly refuse to accept the possibility

That there may be someone superior to us

Human wisdom does not get anywhere near God’s Omniscience-the more we pride in our own intelligence which God gave us in the first place, the more were stray away from the real knowledge of God and the problem does not bounce back to God who gave all these things to us, but to our own insolence in Godly matters! Very spiritual poem here!

Man could get into the the heights of his abilities at times and forgets God. Then he stumbles and recalls Him afterwards. Well expressed.

There are so many different perspectives

This is an extremely thought provoking piece. For me, I can’t imagine not having a solid belief system in place regarding God. Of course, there are many nonbelievers in this world and I don’t know what, if anything they hold on to.

This is another deep poem. There are many people who have trouble believing in God. I couldnt imagine not believing in God.

Ultimately it is looking at ourselves the imperfectness and perfect creation that we are, and that we ourselves are creating perfection yet hindered with free will, we thus the have the choice to believe in God or not, yet somehow inherently aware that there is a God far superior than ourselves. I believe there is a God and without God’s presence alone it would surely be an agony to live with out him.
