A short story explaining to us why we pass through different stages in life.

In the time of creation, God was wondering if what kind of creatures would he make to live on Earth. He was also thinking of what would they look like and what would they be doing for the rest of their lives. After deciding on what to do, God then starts to work.

God first made a dog; and after making the creature, he told the dog: “You will sit by the door of your house and bark at anyone who comes in or walks past. For this, I will give you a life span of twenty years.” Hearing the offer, the dog said, “That’s a long time to be barking. How about I only live for ten years and I’ll give you back the other ten?” God then agreed to what the dog offered.

The next creature God made was a monkey. He told the monkey, “Entertain people, do tricks, and make them laugh. For this, I will give you a twenty-year life span”. The monkey got anxious and said,”Monkey tricks for twenty years? That’s a pretty long time to perform. How about I give you back ten like the Dog did?” Again, God agreed to what the monkey was planning.

The third creature Cod created was the cow. He told the cow, “You must go into the field with the farmer all day long and suffer under the sun, have calves and give milk to support the farmer’s family. For this, I will give you a life span of sixty years.”. The cow disagreed and said: ‘That’s kind of a tough life you want me to live for sixty years. How about twenty years and I’ll give back the other forty?’ After hearing the cow’s opinion, God agreed.

The last creature God made was the man, which He considered very special and was his favorite. He told the man, “Eat, sleep, play, marry and enjoy your life. For this, I’ll give you twenty years to live.” the man got angry and developed an attitude of selfishness. He told God, “Only twenty years? Could you possibly give me my twenty, the forty the cow gave back, the ten the monkey gave back, and the ten the dog gave back; that makes eighty, okay?” the Lord, left with no choice, gave man what he wanted.

This is now the realization of life, for the first twenty years of our lives we eat, sleep, play and enjoy ourselves. For the next forty years we slave in the sun to support our family. For the next ten years we do monkey tricks to entertain the grandchildren. And for the last ten years we sit on the front porch and bark at everyone. Life has now been explained to you. God has given us the chance to live happily all the time of our life. But we wanted more; which made our lives harder. Don’t waste your time. Live your life to the fullest.
