One might be used to certain things

If what you do seems fun.

But the outcome may result in pain

Pain unseen until it’s done.

Perhaps the pain is well in view

Before the end has come.

Yet the pleasure far outweighs the pain

Though the pain is only “some.”

There’s a third option about pain –

That it may never be.

The fun is there, the pain forecast

But no pain you live to see.

A final and fourth option may exist

There’s more pain than all the fun.

One might get used to this as well –

Such a life must be undone.

Jesus handles all such options

In this life or the next ahead.

I lived most in option four

The pain now was worse than death.

The heart must humble itself first

Acknowledge thinking to be dropped.

Get new thinking in your head

Replacing acts you should have stopped.

How to make life changes isn’t easy

When another is involved.

With wisdom and loving care

Most of what’s bad can be resolved.

Learn of Jesus and hear His answers

Then obey Him – He’s the one.

His love and power aids

The pain of life to be undone.
