What if aliens came to take over our Earth?

The future once bright,
Now narrow alleys and
Thick brick walls lead to
Streets of broken rock and stone,
Huge Reptilians walking upright
Shouting through megaphones
Telling us we will be killed on sight
Unless we run to the nearest hospital to be
Inoculated to be injected with
A serum that will put us in a state
And then we will do whatever
They choose to relate.
They have given those a list of items
To find and bring back to the Mother Ship,
For the Lizard King who loves
The gifts that we can bring
So he can fix the rift.
Meanwhile he waits, he’s watching
Human girls made to dance in a field
Where raindrops fall like diamonds.
Off in the distance black smoke rises
From where the burn corporate buildings
That they don’t like the architecture of
Meanwhile we follow like sheep and help
Them raiding all our stores of food,
But we are hungry, for we are too scared,
We just gather for the list he desires
As we walk like zombies with a
Wild-eyed stare of incomprehension.
They time before this we could
Never have dreamed of a Mother Ship
Coming down and destroying our lives.
Is this possible we are just dreaming?

My favorite line was, ‘As we walk like zombies with a wild-eyed stare of incomprehension.’ You do have a wonderful style. God bless, Will!
