In memory of all those innocent people killed in this criminal war.

Fifteen civilians were killed when insurgents traded gunfire with marines.
Fire continued to burn from the destruction
of a secret weapons stash
and the marines have been making a sweep
after two soldiers were killed
by a roadside bomb.

Black smoke rose from buildings
across the burned-out city.
U.S. artillery continued to bombard
insurgent positions and weapons bunkers
a day after commanders declared that the city
had been liberated and that people
were free to go back to their homes
