Did you ever watch a young child at play and think, "I wonder what they are thinking? Well that is what this poem is about.

I see the baby looking out the window.
Her hair blowing in the breeze.
I’d love to look at the world through her eyes,
What is it that she sees.
~
I want to see the innocents,
Everything that’s new.
I want to see this great big world,
The way that babies do.
~
She watches the train go by,
Without even blinking.
Oh how I wish i knew,
What is it that she’s thinking?
~
She sees the puppy lying in the sun,
With a smile upon her face.
I want to be in the babies mind,
It must be a wonderful place.
~
To me spring is like a baby,
Everything is so fresh and new.
Oh if we could all see the world,
The way that babies do. !!

George Younce sang a beautiful song, “If I could see the world through the eyes of a child.” You’ve written a beautiful poem in the same genre.

    If only we could, Collette.

So innocent to the world outside, yet they take in everything they see. Nice Work : )

You remind me of the days I’ve spent watching a granddaughter play. I hope she never loses her wonderful imagination.

A delightful, charming piece Collette. If only we could retain the joy of a child as we grew older…
