Can you see how everything comes back to the human body in this long, detailed riddle?
Look for the figure
That stands with set formulation.
Its base rests flat,
Erect and level,
Branching slightly,
Embracing the world.
Here in lay liquid life
Colored red, white and blue.
It runs through narrow creeks
Feeding every miniscule piece
With hopes of never breaking free.
Drum-like beating pushes and pulls,
Thudding and pounding within its cage
Like a wild bear locked up,
Thrashing about rhythmically
Trying to break free.
Proportional in size and strength,
Structured tediously, down to a science.
Microscopic organisms come together,
Many life forms now as one.
See the whole and not the parts.
View not the sturdy beams
Holding up the frame.
View not the tape
Connecting all the pieces.
View not the bands
That pull and move the masses.
View not the systems,
Homeostasis seeking to maintain.
Find the form that is of the sea,
But left in water dies.
Find the form that is of the land,
Yet hard contact will break.
Find the form that is of the air,
But pollutes with expiration.
Find the form that is of the sun,
But light can morph and burn.
Look to yourself
For the answer you seek.
Gaze into the crystal sphere.
Stare into the cool, calm lake.
Peer into the mirror.
For reflected there,
In the surface smooth,
Is the figure so long sought;
One with endless spirit
That can’t be tamed or bought.
