This is a poem, in part, about the intertwined nature of the good and the bad. It is also suitable for a gospel song. The parable of the weeds and wheat is an integral part of the poem.

This poem can also be used as a gospel song when sung to a free mp3 backing track with the melody included. Details, including sheet music, are given at http://sabirthday.blogspot.com/ It concerns, among other things, the parable of the weeds and wheat.

The weeds and wheat (Composed by Swayseeker)
Those who are well
Do not need to be healed
Those gone astray
Can now find a new way
Jesus did welcome
Those so many sinners
Pulled some away
Stopped them going astray

CHORUS
Not all our thoughts
Are entirely bad
Act as we should
Try to do good
Can good and bad
Be so far apart
Is it that neat
The chaff and the wheat?

Not to do harm
But instead He would heal
Ways to stop hate
He began to reveal
Hate what is bad
And hold fast to the good
Discern and do seek
As good people should

CHORUSGood seed was sown
Like the kingdom of heaven
Bad one soon came
and then sowed he the weed
Wait for the time
For the harvest to come
Wheat to the barn
Of the weeds ther’ll be none

CHORUS
