About the wind.

Image via Wikipedia

What is the wonderful wind?

You can smell it but you cant see it

You can feel it but can’t touch it

You can see what it does to the leaves

On the trees

You detect a warm or cool breeze

It’s all around

This mystical thing

You can hear it howl

Through mountain and valley things

Some times the sounds are beautiful

You swear it’s the angel who sings

The birds can use it

To bring flight beneath their wings

Image via Wikipedia

It blows throughout the park

It even moves the swings

It can bring such wonderful feeling

For the cold winter air it brings

Image via Wikipedia

It can blow to and fro

But who can really know

From where does it start

And when it’s gone

Where does it go?

These answers we will never find

The great creator had this

Very thing in his mind

When he created the magical

Mystical beauty of wind

Image via Wikipedia

We can search until we are blind

But our thoughts and actions

Will always be several steps behind

Most things God created

From within his mastermind

Mystery and wonder we choose

Our imaginations we use

And try to understand such things

Why can’t we just accept

The gifts for us he brings

And simply enjoy the pleasure

Of our earthly treasure

Why not stop living in doubt

Stop trying to figure it out

When we can look to the sky and shout

Lord your gift of beauty

Is simply amazing and all about

Why not stop living in doubt

Stop trying to figure it out

When we can look to the sky and shout

Lord your gift of beauty

Is simply amazing and all about

Then we would no longer pout

Faith would grow

And the numbers of believers

Would greatly mount

Oh, I thought this poem was going to be about something totally different!

Must have been all that talk on the forum that has my mind so deep in the gutter, sorry about that.

  • QuinMonty86 on Mar 30, 2009

    Very nice, Bo.

  • Casey Kelley on Mar 30, 2009

Beautiful. It reminded me though of this chicks presentation on wind as a alternative energy source, it was really funny because she kept saying how wind is renewable, and we were like wait, Wind is renewable!? it was funny, sorry – a little off topic, but i Liked the imagery of your poem.

Great poem Bo! You are indeed a wordsmith. I loved the symbolism – the Holy Spirit is represented by wind.

  • Duff D Moss on Mar 30, 2009

Good stuff Capt. I love the wind, and this stirred my love for it. It also reminds of the song where the chorus says something \”the answer my friend is blowing in the wind…the answer is blowing in the wind\”. I tend to think that is true.

The wind is calming but can be the hellish rage of nature. You strayed a little off course at the end, but is well taken.

  • Alina Beck on Apr 29, 2009

The wind – you can’t see it, only its effects. There’s a metaphor in there somewhere! Nice poem, Bo!
