The Writers Pen a poem by Jennifer Jo Fay. An inspirational poem about writing and sticking with it.
The Writers Pen
My pen has been in hand.
Writing down thoughts as they
come to me.
Sometimes the pen is visible
and it moves with the magical
flow of my left hand.
Yes, Iof’m a lefty.
So, my mind is thinking fast,
keeps creating like a record that sings
of words and lyrics from
the right side of my brain.
One side is gray and is dormant
while the swirling rainbow called Josephs cloak
keeps pounding
and drives my ten fingers to
click diligently at the keyboard.
12 hubs today, keeps going.
No writers block in sight today.
All of good quality too.
Can’t stop that.
Creative writing keeps going.
Dare tell me to stop,
I will say no. Tell me to stop writing
or creating art,
I will tell you “On a seething hot day
in the devil’s lair.”
I write because I am,
you can’t change the prolific writer.
If you take my pen and paper
away,
I’ll just go seek some more.
Within my heart and soul
are the psyche’s words to breathe.
Once was nothing
and now there is.
So when you sit down to write
your words
speak naturally
of who you choose to be.
Left handed or right handed,
it doesn’t really matter.
