Written for a friend who lost his Nan earlier this month. They were very close and I felt this was the only thing I could do for him.

Head pressed against the glass

Watching life flying past

Leaves flapping on the trees

Like her dresses swaying in the breeze

Together we both end our journey

I’m back home, she’s on a gurney

How different would things have been

If I’d known you would leave?

I saw you oh so many times

But now tears well behind my eyes

Although I hurt and often weep

I know you are at rest in peaceful  sleep

this is a beautiful poem that I can relate to especially since I lost my mother to commplications of Lupus. She was 38 years young. I miss her every day, every moment of my life. It’s been 10 years and I am still not healed. Thank you for writing such an inspiring poem.

Didn\’t get much of a chance to comment in class, but I really like this. If you say who it is dedicated to, you can use the title variation you showed us in class.
