I’ve been uploading many poems lately. This is another from the book “Silly Stories.”
I know I’ve been uploading quite a few poems lately. They were from a few books, others I found on the net. This next one is from the ‘Silly Stories.’ I already uploaded another poem from this book, Clumsy Fred, which is posted already, and as that one starts the book, this one completely ends it. This poem is called ‘There was an Old Woman’ and is about the nutty eating habits of a particular crazy old woman. Look for yourself!
There Was an Old Woman
There was an Old Woman
Who lived on our street.
You wouldn’t believe all
The things she could eat.
For breakfast each morning,
A full three-course meal!
Of nuts and bolts
served in a bicycle wheel
She always was careful,
not to miss lunch.
On brooms, mops and buckets,
she’d nibble and crunch.
Trumpets and trombones were
her favorite dinner,
But though always eating,
She kept getting thinner.
At midnight she’d snack on
some bees in their hives,
All swiftly washed down with
The forks, spoons and knives!
What would finish her off
No one could have known-
For that nutty, old woman
Choked on a fish bone!
