I awoke this morning to wet feet. The roof has developed a new leak.

Pitch and Patch
Mend the latch
There’s a hole in the roof again

The bills stack high
We can’t deny
The tax collector his due

Owning our home
Seemed freedom’s throne
But it’s a hedge fencing us in.

But this patch is mine
It isn’t thine
My yard doesn’t belong to YOU.

Compost the leaves
Ignore the reave
Here control of my life will begin.

A garden ten-square
A pet’s comfy lair,
I will take care of my own.

Use fallen limbs
To trellis up vines
Don’t let despair come in.

Pitch and Patch
Mend the latch
There’s a hole in the roof again

Catch the drip
Mind you don’t slip
Tomorrow the sun will shine.

Im sorry about the hole in the roof but this was fun;;; I love this verse best: Owning our home
    Seemed freedom’s throne
But it’s a hedge fencing us in.

Daisy, sorry you having so many problems. For us they usually come in threes then we have a good run for a while then the three problems again. God will only give you has much as you can handle. Try to stay strong. Your verses were well composed and expressed.

Daisy, I’m sorry your roof is leaking, but I really like your poem.
