Righting wrongs.
There is nothing like a sad sad song
Sung in a deep southern draw…
Singing crying out loud
About long lost lonesome day’s
There is nothing like a sad sad song
Twisting into one of those sad sad country songs.
This ain’t one of those somebody done somebody wrong songs
It’s about trying to right all those many wrongs
Of course stranger things have been written harsher said
But ya’ll know what I am preaching about…
Always somehow getting that starring role playing as the villain
The villain, who took too many lefts when he should’ve turned right a long time ago.
No longer do I lie awake at night in a bed of rusty nails
No longer is my life soaked with tears from spilt regret
Back when I use to drink then sink into the sin that I had spun
Yeah… I use to live a different life
I have lost more than I have earned
I have watched it all ignite then full-circle return.
Never again will my soul burn
Never again the angels sing
I am man… always opening and closing his own doors
Living on the courage of a wounded roar
I am lion… regaining his pride
Regained within his own strength.
It is within him that I strive
Drinking the water that He walks upon
No-longer am I the addicted boy who runs and hides
Blood into wine
Blood into wine
Blanketed by the crown that forever shines.
It has been way too long since mom has been home
Her death tried to bury me
But now my girl sees me as the only man in the crowd
They all three… come carrying the gift of relationship for me
Carrying me after my many battles and defeats
They all three … Jesus, momma and she.
