Shadows.

You can’t hide under street lamps, bright
You can’t win and you can’t fight
You can only run, and wish for flight
For the shadows chase you in the silent night

You can scream and hope others hear your plight
You can wonder ’round in search of light
You’ll lose your sense of wrong and right
When shadows come to feed at night

Black will swallow all that’s white
Darkness will pilfer your sense of sight
Cross yourself, and pray tonight
When I let my shadows come out at night
