Lyrical poetry.
She said she want a Man to hold her hand & her heart, and take care of her.
She don’t need the dollars- she works, she does her share of the
ta-kin’ care of business, and her business is solid;
now she’s lookin for a Man to focus more on the private.
On the intimate side, she wants that Smooth Brother-
she want that one on one time, she’s dissin no colors-
if you come with that line, you a supa lover,
but she don’t see it in your eyes, then you wastin’ your time.
She wants to walk in the park, and talk life plans.
She wants to snuggle in the dark, with the right Man.
She wants that cul-de-sac villa & to fill it up with chilluns,
cookin’ breakfast in the mornin’, gourmet-in all the dinners-
for that she needs a winner…
…she ain’t playin’ with that one night hitter-quitter…
she’s been delayin’ givin’ up that most sacred center-
& she’s been waiting for that realer than realer real Man, to come and get her….
He said he wants a Woman who ain’t diggin’ for dollars;
he said he wants a ring, not a choke-chain collar.
He said he wants a Woman that he knows he’ll be proud of,
and when he gets loud, She ain’t afraid to get louder.
He said he wants a Woman that is eager to listen
when he’s dealin’ with a problem & will give him attention;
the type of smart Woman who respects his opinions,
but won’t hesitate for a second, if it’s clear he needs checkin’.
For that, he needs a real Lady;
type of Woman that can squash down, control Her crazy.
Type of Woman that’ll make him wanna raise some babies-
full-time, not some absentee, clearly shady.
He said he wants a Woman for softness, for talkin’ with often,
to purchase a house, and when it’s time for a coffin,
the kids won’t be orphaned- they’ll know, love is all it
takes-us, to make-it,
her heart, he won’t break it,
fool it or shape it
refuse it or waste it.
Given he chance, he’ll romance it and take it,
to places
unheard of-
he wants that true love-
the kind that poets and musicians crooned of…
