Mothering poem.
They Wake Me Up
I live and breathe everyday –
Wake up to birds talking
Children ..feet going
tap, tap on my face
“what time? “ of course “I’m Late!”
All done in steps 1..2…3
Kids ready, breakfast serving, lunch preserving
I’m ready!
Moms job’s multi-tasker, everlasting..
Minimum wage
But the benefits are the rage
Would I trade?…………..
Give me day, all alone
No need for friends or any phones
Two hours in……..”this seems like a sin”
So instead I bake, clean and cook,
Bath, kisses and read books,
And do it again with some complaints
But… love my job, my life is fate.
