What’s in a number? Math, physics, statistics, logic, reason; the measure of life…I’ve been thinking about numbers. Read more…

THINKING ABOUT NUMBERS

Numbers, counting, one, two, three;

numbers affect both you and me.

The temperature, just right, too hot, too cold…

Weather being what it will be,

sometimes we roast, sometimes we freeze.

Numbers, the weight of silver, the weight of gold;

the height of mountains, the depth of seas…

and numbers tell the years of me,

what’s new, what’s old,

of modern or antiquity;

numbers affect both you and me.

It’s the worth of what is bought or sold.

It is consequence consecutively,

how well we hear what we believe,

garnered from what we’ve been told;

The light, the dark, the in-between,

of both physics and philosophy

while on and on how those numbers roll.

Numbers affect both you and me,

our claim to fame and our money…

Weights and measures; highs and lows,

math, algebra, geometry;

the simple accounting of you and me;

and that’s the way the numbers go.

Numbers; a measure of time or how well we see,

and comprehend infinity.
