This morning I will make a to do list
write on the paper all the things I will not miss.
Getting up in the wee hours to cook breakfast
Start the juicer to serve fresh squeeze juice.
Making the beds after everyone left
Reminding me of the anger I felt.
Wiping down toilet bowls
And saying loudly “what goal”
Walking around picking up
Putting down, placing here, loading, unloading
Who am I a servant….not today.
Today I finish the list
Of the things I will not miss.
Lock the door, leave the key
Oh, how wonderful to be free.
