This poem is about me writing about my English IV room. My teacher had us right a small poem about the room, and what we saw in it. I personally like attempt number 2, but I posted all three to show my process.
1) All out first attempt
2) Longer more detailed
3) Shortened number 2
ENJOY.
(1st Thoughts)
This one room
Is not like any other room
For it leads to places and thoughts
Far beyond this one room
All along the walls
And even on the ceiling
Are posters and banners
That stimulates your mind
Among the posters are colleges
Of both near and far
But we can experience them all
From this one room.
(2nd Thoughts)
This one room
Is not like any other room
For it leads to places and thoughts
Far beyond this one room
All along these four walls
And even a few up on the ceiling
Are posters, signs and banners
That take us far beyond this one room
Places near and far
As well as old and new
Are brought to us through the confines
Of this one room
Relics, icons and masks
Only add to our minds delight
As we travel to our hearts content
Far beyond this one room
Isn’t it amazing?
All of these religions, cultures, places and times
Are combined all so neatly for us to find
Within this one room
If all of this……
The thoughts, images and ideas
Can be created from this one room
Then what lies ahead for us
Down the long and winding road
That is the journey called life?
(3rd Thoughts)
To the north lies a blackboard
With a small waterfall to its left
To its right, icons of old times
With a small forest all around the room
And an ancient religion above it all
Isn’t it amazing?
Isn’t it unbelievable?
That this is just one room?
