One should oust vanity from this nine days’ wonder.

A Toad skipped in our division just for nine days,
And turned the backs of the Officials along with their face,
He howled, hackled and roared at the top of his voice,
Checked the Full Stop, Coma and put a ban on noise.

He allotted the work as per his own whims and practice,
And forgot those days when he used tricks and tactics,
He enjoyed in the division for long nine years,
By sitting in solitary corners with his small beard.

Every one knew his passion for hot books,
His whispers on telephone just like some crook,
Often he provided help to the cute sweepers,
But was ignored by those wretched creatures,

Look, this world is a nine days’ wonder,
Which is having already enough storms and thunders,
We should not further make it dirty,
By our arrogance and savage authority,

It is good to be an officer; it is better to gain power,
But is worst to scold our friends by thinking them lower,
If we fail in the test of humanity, though we may be the best,
God will be angry; he will be in pain,
He will throw us headlong in some dirty drain.

Don’t yell, don’t shout,
Be broad and be not proud,
None knows about ones End,
Hence, be cool and be a friend,
Be humble, be generous,
Be clever but not cleverer.

Thank you. I enjoyed the ‘nine days wonder’ poem very much. I have to ask (but you don’t have to reply), why ‘Arun Sharma’? Is it your actual name?
