Three poems, covering a stately range of subjects.

3 Poems on Differing Subjects

A Poem on Current Schooling

Retarded anomalies progress.
Restrained, defy belief.
The old days,
no longer good
enough.

A Poem on Skyscrapers

Goliath steel towers haughty;
clawing the line of sky,
to carry infant life
on toward
eternity.

A Poem on Reaction

The core turns,
reaction.
Infinitesimal sparks,
reaction.
Pitch holes become,
reaction.
The core turns,
creation.

Interesting. A man of very few words, I see. They make me think.

    are these called sonnets??

These are poems. Sonnets are a very strict type of verse, what with rhyming and meter. Blank verse is a little easier. I’ve tried both and now I’m trying my hand at what I call free-flowing poetry, which has a pattern that you see when you look at it. Such as in the second poem, it becomes one word from four, like a pyramid text.

Poem three dips up and down. Etc.

a sonnet consists of a total of 14 sylables per line and 140 syllables in total… the most commen kind of sonnet is what you would call the stress/unstressed kind… meaning the stressing of syllables in words and the unstressing in of sylables in an alternating pattern for the entire poem… the ryme scheme for it is very complex and i cant remember it off the top of my head… im sure that thats correct… am i not? but anywho… nice poems…. very simple but there is more behind them… they not only make me thiknk, they also captivate me… great job! i would love to read more of you writings…
