Heaven is above God’s great earth

high up in the spacious blue sky

given eternity in his beautiful land

after we live life and then we die.

The pearly gates with stairs of jewel

gleaming golden streets up in the sky

God’s graceful Angel’s all dance and sing

some are amongst us as they fly.

As night time comes we all can see

his bright stars shining down below

there is the moon behind a cloud

casting its subtle midnight glow.

Our precious Lord is watching life

on his throne behind the pearly gates

high up there beyond our troubled earth

in Heaven our father patiently awaits.

A heartfelt welcome we all will feel

as we enter Through Heaven’s Door

hearing rock of ages on streets of gold

given our eternity forevermore…
