This is the depth of love I feel every man should have for a woman. The love to go through hell, literally or metaphorically, to do whatever is needed.
I once stood in heaven,
at the pearly gates
Saint Peter told me to come in
but I told him I had to stay
I asked if you were in the book
and he flipped from page to page
after taking a second look
I saw the expression upon his face
He said you wouldn’t be coming
to stay in paradise
instead you will be burning
for the way you led your life
I thought to myself and pondered
and after a moment I said
I shall go down and wander
and take her place instead.
Unprecedentedly, I strolled
back the way I came
I left that city of gold
but did not feel any shame
I made my way to the gates of hell
I walked up to the demon who guarded the gate
as I came up to him he gave out a boisterous yell
as the other demons lied in wait
As I entered that place I heard the screams
an untold number of souls in eternal agony
a sight in only my most nightmarish dreams
but onward I went with foolish integrity
The demons were snarling and showing their fangs
the claws enormous and dripping with blood
I drew my holy blade, oh how it sang
as the demons began charging with the force of a flood
I prayed as holy armor surrounded my body
I’d been training for this day to come
My demeanor and stance was godly
I felt my body go completely numb
The minions of hell had me surrounded
as they came one after the other
my sword cleaved through the masses unbounded
as I inched my way further
My heart and soul set on you
these demons can not hold me back
I could feel your presence so true
then everything went black
I saw you in a horrid condition
body tattered,tortured so completely
to the point of unrecognition
do not worry, I came to set you free
I picked up your soul and held you close
and laid my sword upon the unholy ground
carried the burden of your sins to dispose
as all other thoughts had been drowned
The demons had backed off
for they knew what I had planned
the burden heavier, I barely held you aloft
it took all my strength to stand
Back to the edge of hell
I carried you till my life faded
An angel took you from my grasp so frail
my soul for yours had been traded
So, if you read this, know this now
one thing you should hold true
If ever I knew the way how
I would go through hell for you
