Walking into a discovery…
Walking alone in the dark with only thoughts to comfort me. A churning inside. A swirling spiral, building into a feeling of levitation. Yet alone in a shell only visible to the back of my own eyes. No one to turn to without causing pain. No one to hold me without the doing the same. A gate I can see against the night mist. I stand lost in anticipation and yet confusion. I don’t know what is through the open door that the gate will provide. I stand in innocence with dark hair and white gown flowing. I take small steps to approach the gate. I hear growling and feel eyes as I arrive and touch the cold metal bars. I fog encircles my gown and creates a moonlight glow in my eyes. A sparkling key resides there calling me. Lost and lonely for a touch I’ve missed may be no more if I turn the key in the lock. As I engage in turning the key, the mist starts to provide a clearing and an eerie light along the ground. It’s the moon making way for my steps as the gate slowly moves. Fear overtakes me but in an instant I feel an urge to continue. My internal passion seems to be driving me. I can tell you are there, though I don’t know who you are. I’ve determined that the moon and the iron gate of dragons are leading me to this place. It’s the place where you the unknown person reside. The key now turned and the gate swinging open. In short of breath I realize a castle awaits. However I will not make it there. Somehow my heart knows to tell my steps to stop. The moon feels as if it’s causing the swirling inside me to stop spinning. Yet my breath gets shorter and harder to let go. I feel you walking near me yet I still can’t see you. Then a peace and awakening start to arise in me as a figure appears in the mist. An anticipation of your face that cannot be put into words yet. I am looking at you now. Taking the moment in as the mist and moon clear the way. Lips I have somehow longed for, reach out for mine. My hand grasps your face to bring you to me, and a passion ignites. The touch of your lips is as powerful as the moon. In the clearing of the mist and in the touch the fear is being erased. The gate eases closed and the key disappears. I am now locked outside the dragons gate of the past…forever.
